Fulham are eyeing Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira as they assess options to replace Marco Silva, a development that could influence Flamengo’s title hopes in the Brasileirão. According to Coluna Do Fla, there has been no official offer.
Marco Silva has departed Fulham for Benfica, with the London club weighing candidates to succeed him.
Fulham are also tracking Ruben Amorim, the former Manchester United manager, who is currently unemployed after leaving the English club.
Under Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras have emerged as Flamengo’s chief rivals in recent seasons, meeting in two Copa Libertadores finals. The pair have also fought neck and neck for the Campeonato Brasileiro title.
Flamengo sit second in the Campeonato Brasileiro, behind Palmeiras led by Abel Ferreira. Both clubs are in the Libertadores round of 16 and are viewed as leading contenders.
