Two teams desperate to halt alarming Premier League slumps clash at Craven Cottage on Saturday, as Fulham host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Fulham enter the game in 17th place, having lost their last four league matches. However, they face a Wolves side in an even more perilous position. The visitors sit rock bottom of the table and remain the only top-flight team yet to win a game this season.
Fulham manager Marco Silva has received a significant boost with a number of key players returning for Saturday’s match. Defender Joachim Andersen is back in the squad, and the attacking ranks are bolstered by the return of Emile Smith Rowe, Samuel Chukwueze, Harry Wilson, and Rodrigo Muniz, who are all in contention. However, Antonee Robinson remains sidelined, while striker Raúl Jiménez is a major doubt and will face a late fitness test on the morning of the game.
Vítor Pereira’s side suffered new injuries in their midweek Carabao Cup exit. Defenders Matt Doherty and Rodrigo Gomes are both doubts after being forced off against Chelsea. On a positive note, João Gomes is expected to return to midfield, while Ladislav Krejčí could be recalled to the defence.
The Cottagers are in a difficult run of form, having lost their last four Premier League matches. This sequence has undone their positive start and left them just outside the relegation zone. Despite this, Fulham have collected seven of their eight league points at Craven Cottage this season, where they remain unbeaten.
Wolves are on a 13-match winless streak in the league, stretching back to last season. They currently sit 20th, with just two points from their opening nine games. Pressure is mounting on manager Vítor Pereira. In fact, he could equal a league record for managers without a win if this run continues.
Possible Fulham starting XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Traore, King, Iwobi; Kevin
Possible Wolves starting XI: Johnstone; Tchatchoua, S. Bueno, Krejci, H. Bueno; Munetsi, Andre, J. Gomes; Arias, Strand Larsen, Hwang
This match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm GMT Saturday blackout.
