France have been drawn to face Sénégal, Norway and a play-off winner in Group I of the 2026 World Cup. The unidentified opponent in France’s group will be either Bolivia, Suriname or Iraq. Les Bleus will discover on Saturday where they will play their World Cup games, although they are due to set foot in the Eastern Region (Atlanta, Boston, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Toronto).
According to the World Cup’s scheduling, France are set to play Sénégal on June, 16. They will then play the FIFA play-off winner on June, 22 before ending their group stage campaign against Norway on June, 26.
France qualified for the World Cup in winning Group D of the European qualifiers. Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus went on to the finals in 2018 and 2022. Will they make it three times in a row in America? The path to the MetLife Stadium on July 19 will be tough for France given they have been drawn to face one of the best teams in Africa with Sénégal and Erling Haaland’s Norway, that put Italy to the sword in the qualifiers. Should they top their group, France will face a third-placed team.
