Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, has returned to full training and is expected to be Santos's major addition for Sunday's trip to Flamengo at 16:00 at the Maracanã in the 10th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Diario Do Peixe, the striker has recovered from a slight oedema in the soleus muscle of his right calf and is on course to be involved.

The issue kept the number nine out of the match against Remo on Thursday at Vila Belmiro. On Friday morning at CT Rei Pelé, he trained on the pitch with the players who did not start that game.

Those who started against Remo completed recovery work in the gym.

Head coach Cuca and his staff also ran technical and tactical drills in reduced space.

Santos have one more session before travelling to Rio de Janeiro, when they are expected to finalise the starting line-up.

Santos will be without Neymar and Rony, both suspended after receiving a third yellow card. Vinícius Lira and Gabriel Menino remain sidelined by injury, while right-back Mayke cannot feature due to the recent use of a corticosteroid medication, which could show up in doping control.
