Gabriel Brás to join NEC on loan | OneFootball

Gabriel Brás, the Porto B captain, will join NEC Nijmegen on loan. The central defender spent much of pre-season under Francesco Farioli. At 22, this will be his first move abroad.

According to O Jogo, the Dutch club will pay 100,000 euros as a loan fee and hold an option to buy 50 per cent of his rights for 1.25 million euros.

Known as Gabi to team-mates, he was left out of today’s squad to face Lusitânia de Lourosa, with agreement already in place for his departure. He has been with Porto since 2017.

In the Netherlands, Brás could gain experience in the top division and even in European competition.

NEC host Olympiacos on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League third qualifying round, after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
