Gabriel Menino and Mattos were sanctioned by the TJD for incidents during Santos’ 2-0 defeat to São Paulo at Morumbis on 31 January in the sixth round of the Paulistão.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the second Disciplinary Commission ruled on Tuesday 24th, with both represented by lawyer Dr. Marcelo Trevisan de Góes.

Menino was dismissed after two yellow cards in the clássico. Referee João Vitor Gobi recorded that the midfielder insulted him and, on leaving the pitch, kicked a multiball positioned by Santos’ goal.

He received a one-match suspension converted into a warning covering all charges. He had been cited under CBJD articles 250 and 258, paragraph 2, II for unsporting conduct and disrespect towards the match officials, and under article 219 via 184 for damaging sporting premises.

Mattos, who strongly criticised the officiating, was handed a 15-day suspension from the club’s state fixtures. With Santos eliminated from the competition, the decision is set to carry over to the next edition.

Gobi noted that at half-time Mattos entered the field while the officials were still present, confronted them about their decisions, followed them to the referees’ dressing-room door and continued to contest their actions.

Mattos was cited under article 258-B for entering an area designated for the match officials during the game or interval, an offence punishable by suspension of one to three matches.
