Presented this Monday as the first signing for Corinthians for 2026, Gabriel Paulista reunited with an old acquaintance at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava: Memphis Depay. The two played together at Atlético de Madrid, in Spain.

The defender’s stint at the Spanish club was short. He was signed at the beginning of 2024 and left the team in June, having played only five matches.

However, during this period, Gabriel Paulista got to know Memphis. The Dutchman would go on to sign with Timão shortly after, in September 2024.

“The group is incredible, I have nothing to say. I’ve already played with Memphis at Atlético de Madrid. He was happy, he knows me well,” said the player in his first press conference as a Corinthians player.
