Gabriel Paulista has started brightly at Corinthians, scoring twice in less than two weeks after departing Besiktas and returning to Brazil.
His first goal came on 1 February in the Supercopa to secure victory over Flamengo. The second arrived on Thursday in Serie A against RB Bragantino, who had entered matchday three as leaders. According to Superdeporte, he left Besiktas at the start of the year and returned to Brazil for personal reasons before signing for the historic Corinthians.
He has been a regular starter both in Türkiye and now back home.
At 35, this run comes late in his career and appears to be his final adventure as a professional.
Never a prolific centre-back, he often contributes thanks to his aerial strength. He scored eight in 220 matches for Valencia, a rate of one every 27 games. He netted once for Arsenal and once for Besiktas, none for Villarreal or Atlético de Madrid, and seven in 141 for EC Vitória.
