Corinthians will be without Gabriel Paulista for the 16th round trip to Botafogo, the centre-back suspended after his third booking in the 3-2 win over São Paulo at Neo Química Arena.
According to Meu Timao, André Ramalho is expected to partner Gustavo Henrique in Paulista’s absence, with 17-year-old Iago Machado also available as João Pedro Tchoca underwent surgery on Saturday.
He was cautioned on 41 minutes, shortly after São Paulo had levelled, following a flare-up sparked by Luciano’s celebration near the corner flag, which led some supporters to throw objects onto the pitch. Calleri was struck by an electronic cigarette.
Paulista then exchanged words with Sabino and both were booked, triggering an automatic ban for the number 3. Calleri and Matheus Bidu were also shown yellow cards in the incident.
The defender has made 23 appearances this season, 21 of them starts, and scored two goals. This is his first suspension of the campaign.
Corinthians next play on Thursday, hosting Barra at 19:30 in the Copa do Brasil fifth phase second leg, having won the first leg 1-0. The Botafogo game is scheduled for Sunday at 16:00 at Nilton Santos.
