Galarreta returns four days after shoulder dislocation in surprise Anoeta cameo

Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta made a remarkable return, featuring at Anoeta only four days after dislocating his shoulder in Vallecas.

According to El Correo, his comeback defied expectation after he was forced off against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday with the joint out of place. Medics reset it in the dressing room and his availability for San Sebastián appeared highly doubtful.

Post-match in Vallecas, Athletic head coach Ernesto Valverde said he was not optimistic. He noted the shoulder had been put back in and felt it would be difficult for the midfielder to play on Wednesday.
