Galatasaray issued a statement on Sunday denying claims they have reached an agreement with Jamal Musiala or Bayern Munich.
About a week earlier, Hürriyet reported the 23-year-old had been offered to Galatasaray on loan, and subsequent coverage suggested talks were progressing, at times even pointing to an agreement.
Transfer-window rumours around the Turkish champions are frequent, with numerous players currently linked, but the club has moved to clarify the situation.
Musiala remains under contract at Bayern until 2030 and, despite a complicated period, is not planning to leave. He fractured a fibula last summer, returned at the start of the year, and showed only flashes of form while, like Germany overall, disappointing at the World Cup.
He later underwent a long-planned operation to remove a metal plate.
Competition for his preferred central role next season is set to intensify after the arrival of Ismael Saibari and with Michael Olise keen to operate inside. Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl are also options in that area.
