Galatasaray are reportedly preparing an ambitious double raid on Aston Villa as they target moves for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and left-back Lucas Digne, according to Foot Mercato.

After the recent arrival of Leroy Sane, the Turkish giants are in the market for more proven international quality as they prepare for another title defence and a return to the Champions League.

Galatasaray have identified World Cup winner Martinez and seasoned French defender Digne as key targets for a combined €27 million to strengthen their defensive line.

Martinez has established himself as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers over the last three years, having played a vital role in Argentina’s World Cup and Copa America triumphs.

Martinez was sent off in Villa’s closing game of last season and could have played his final game for the club.

Despite his contract running until 2029, the 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer.

Any move for Martinez will come with a lot of competition and a sizeable transfer fee, with Manchester United and Saudi Arabian clubs among his potential suitors.

Digne has just one year left on his Villa contract and is a more attainable target. However, Galatasaray may have Atletico Madrid to contend with for the Frenchman’s signature.

Villa are reportedly in danger of breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and could be open to several departures this summer.

Nonetheless, Unai Emery’s side hold an interest in Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara, who is valued at around €20m, although it remains to be seen if the Super Lig champions will be willing to part ways with such a key midfielder.
