Galatasaray name 21-man squad for Sporting CP opener as four key players miss out through injury | OneFootball

Galatasaray have confirmed their 21-man travelling squad for Wednesday evening's UEFA Champions League opener at Sporting CP at the Estádio José Alvalade. Four players are ruled out injured.

According to Turkish-Football.com, head coach Okan Buruk will be without several regulars for the trip to Lisbon.

Victor Osimhen is sidelined with a groin strain sustained last week. Mario Lemina has a muscle tear and defensive loan signing Wilfried Singo also misses out, as does back-up goalkeeper Günay Güvenç.

In their absence, summer signing Deniz Gül and Turkish international Barış Alper Yılmaz are expected to take on greater attacking responsibility.

The travelling party comprises goalkeepers Uğurcan Çakır, Jankat Yılmaz and Enes Emre Büyük, and defenders Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Davinson Sánchez, El Chadaille Bitshiabu, Eren Elmalı, Ismail Jakobs and Roland Sallai.

Midfield options are İlkay Gündoğan, Lucas Torreira, Gabriel Sara, Lesley Ugochukwu, Aleksey Batrakov, Renato Nhaga and Berat Luş.

The forwards are Rafael Leão, Leroy Sané, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Yunus Akgün and Deniz Gül.
