Galatasaray have opened negotiations with West Ham United over a loan for Soungoutou Magassa this month, according to Turkish-Football.com.

The Turkish champions are reportedly keen to add the 22-year-old to Okan Buruk’s squad as part of a winter push to strengthen for Europe.

Magassa joined West Ham from Monaco and is valued for his physicality and versatility. Julen Lopetegui has used the Frenchman in defensive midfield and at centre-back, but regular Premier League starts have been limited.

Galatasaray’s hierarchy view him as an energetic option for the midfield pivot. His ball-winning profile is considered a good fit for Buruk’s tactical demands.

For West Ham, the decision rests on squad depth. With a congested domestic schedule, Lopetegui must weigh potential Champions League minutes in Türkiye against the risk of thinning his own defensive options.

If the move is approved, it would represent a significant step for Magassa, shifting from the fringes in England to a potential leading role in a fervent European setting.
