Galatasaray have confirmed Victor Osimhen will not feature in the Turkish Cup tie against Alanyaspor, a strategic call amid a congested run.
The club said in a statement that the decision is part of an “active rest” plan, with several first‑team regulars also rotated to reduce soft‑tissue risk and mental fatigue.
The Lions face six matches in 19 days, with a two‑legged UEFA Champions League meeting against Liverpool at the centre of the schedule.
Osimhen has been a dominant presence in the Süper Lig since his arrival, and Okan Buruk is holding him back from cup duty to keep him at peak physical sharpness for Europe.
With trophies still in play at home and abroad, Galatasaray are leaning on depth and a big‑picture approach. The aim is to sustain a title charge while taking on Liverpool, and to avoid overworking key players in lower‑priority matches.
