Galatasaray submit UEFA Champions League squad as five seniors left out

Trendyol Süper Lig champions Galatasaray have submitted their List A to UEFA for the main phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League, with head coach Okan Buruk finalising a squad stacked with summer signings. Five senior players have missed out.
According to Turkish-Football.com, marquee additions Rafael Leão and Leroy Sané are included alongside striker Victor Osimhen. Galatasaray strengthened across the pitch during the summer.
Further reinforcements feature İlkay Gündoğan, Lesley Ugochukwu and Russian playmaker Aleksey Batrakov, plus defensive loans El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Wilfried Singo.
Goalkeepers: Uğurcan Çakır, Günay Güvenç, Jankat Yılmaz, Enes Emre Büyük. Defenders: Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Davinson Sánchez, El Chadaille Bitshiabu, Wilfried Singo, Eren Elmalı, Ismail Jakobs, Roland Sallai.
Midfielders: Aleksey Batrakov, Gabriel Sara, İlkay Gündoğan, Mario Lemina, Lucas Torreira, Renato Nhaga, Lesley Ugochukwu, Yunus Akgün. Forwards: Victor Osimhen, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Rafael Leão, Leroy Sané, Deniz Gül.
Left out are Kaan Ayhan, Kazımcan Karataş, Eyüp Aydın, Arda Ünyay and Can Armando Güner, a consequence of limits on non-locally trained players. They are eligible only for Süper Lig and Ziraat Turkish Cup fixtures in the first half of the season, with scope to revise the list before the knockout rounds in February.
