Galatasaray ‘to finalise’ €30m package for Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu | OneFootball

Galatasaray are on the verge of completing their first major signing of the summer after reaching an agreement in principle with Burnley for midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.

Sabah reports that the deal is a season-long loan with a €2 million fee, with a performance-based purchase clause between €25 million and €26 million. That clause becomes a mandatory buy if Ugochukwu makes 25 official appearances, taking the overall package to just under €30 million.

The Istanbul club have broken a prolonged deadlock by crafting a structure that aligns valuations and keeps the Lions within financial fair play limits.

The 22-year-old French midfielder has approved the move, allowing his representatives to complete the formal paperwork.

Head coach Okan Buruk has sought a physical, combative number six to anchor midfield before the UEFA Champions League campaign. Ugochukwu impressed in England despite Burnley’s struggles, showing the ball-winning qualities required for Europe.

With personal terms settled and the inter-club framework in place, Ugochukwu is expected to travel to Istanbul shortly for a medical before signing.
