There were two MLS matches on the docket this Sunday. Here is what went down in New York and Seattle.

Goalkeepers shine as Seattle and LA Galaxy draw

In a showdown between two teams at separated by eight points in the Western Conference standings, LA Galaxy earned a goalless draw in Seattle.

Both teams traded chances, but the goalkeeping duo of Stefan Frei and John McCarthy put on a clinic between the sticks to deny both sets of attackers some glorious scoring opportunities.

Neither side will have been too satisfied with a point after creating plenty of opportunities to snatch all three points however.

The shared points sees Seattle remain on the outside of the playoff picture looking in after just one win in their opening four home games.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy missed an opportunity to go back to the top of the West, albeit level on points with Real Salt Lake.

Rapids deliver NYCFC a sixth loss this season

It was a wet and sloppy day in the Bronx and the quality of football suffered as a result, but the visitors found the lead on the break inside 20 minutes nonetheless.

After a nifty counter-attack, Rafael Navarro was picked out at the back-post before cutting inside and curling a beauty of an effort into the top corner to open the scoring.

NYCFC pushed to pull level after the break, but Nick Cushing's side struggled mightily to carve out meaningful scoring chances.

The result was wrapped up when Cole Bassett capped off a superb team move to put the few remaining NYCFC fans inside a soaking wet Citi Field out of their misery.

The win for Colorado sees them move to within three points of the top of Western Conference after 11 games. The Rapids finished bottom of the conference last season.
