There was no rest for Pep Guardiola and his players after a dramatic night in the Premier League at Fulham on Tuesday.

City won by the odd goal in a nine-goal thriller at Craven Cottage, with Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders, Jeremy Doku and a Phil Foden brace our strikes.

Haaland’s finish was a landmark one for the Norwegian, taking him to 100 goals in the Premier League in just his 111th appearance.

That was 13 games quicker than previous record holder Alan Shearer, once again proving the No.9’s breathtakingly prolific nature.

There was barely time to take in all of that drama before City’s attention turned to this weekend’s visit of high-flying Sunderland.

With that in mind, recovery and some gentle work out on the pitch was the aim of the game on a Wednesday of watery sunshine in Manchester.
