City kick-off pre-season with Fiorentina friendly

The 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League and FA Cup winners’ preparations for the upcoming campaign began on Monday.

It followed a well-earned break for Andrée Jeglertz, his staff and players after their heroics last term when becoming the first Blues team to win the Double in our history.

Now, 2026/27 is firmly in our sights as we aim to retain our crowns while also returning to the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in two seasons.

To best prepare for the challenges ahead, our meticulous schedule started in Manchester before the rest of our plans which includes a friendly against Fiorentina in Italy on Saturday 8 August.

Among those at the CFA were new faces, too, in summer signings Beth Mead and Niamh Charles.
