Garnacho wants Roma as Napoli join suitors of Chelsea outcast

Alejandro Garnacho could be on his way out of Chelsea this summer, and the Argentine’s situation has caught the attention of Serie A, with Roma his preferred destination and Napoli the latest club to make enquiries.

Barely a year on from his move from Manchester United, the Argentine has slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues are now open to cashing in.

According to Fabrizio Romano, via CalcioMercato, Garnacho is expected to leave in the coming weeks, with Chelsea holding firm, for now, on a permanent sale rather than a loan. That resolve could ease if no firm bids arrive, potentially opening the door to a loan-with-obligation or option-to-buy structure that would suit the Italian sides far better.

Roma lead race for Chelsea’s Garnacho as Napoli enquire

Roma have had Garnacho on their radar for some weeks, and Alfredo Pedullà reports their interest remains strong and very much alive, with the player himself keen on the move.

The Giallorossi are seeking attacking reinforcements for Gian Piero Gasperini, and with their pursuit of Mason Greenwood having grown complicated, the budget earmarked for that deal could be redirected.

Roma are weighing alternatives too, among them Nottingham Forest’s Dan Ndoye, valued at around €30m and familiar with Serie A from his Bologna days, as well as Noa Lang, Assane Diao and, further afield, West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville.

Napoli, meanwhile, have entered the frame. Pedullà reports the Partenopei made an enquiry in the last few hours, though Garnacho is no new name for a club that tracked him for months.

For now, though, Aurelio De Laurentiis’s side cannot move for incomings until they first trim Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
