Sunderland forward Timur Tutierov is making a bright impression on loan at Exeter City, with Gary Caldwell praising the youngster after a wintry 0-0 draw with Mansfield Town at the weekend.

The 20-year-old joined in January, scored on debut, then struck again in his next outing, followed by two substitute cameos before being handed his first start. "I am delighted with Timur coming in. I think he added real quality, and a profile of a player we didn’t have in the attacking third," he told the club’s in-house media.

Tutierov said the experience felt like something from the films and that the harsh weather influenced how the ball behaved, making the game difficult.

He added that his goals remain unchanged, and that the manager’s trust shows his work is paying off.

With two goals already and a lively start, the Ukrainian will now aim to build on his opening weeks at St. James Park.
