Gary Neville has hit out at every Manchester United star except Bruno Fernandes following a disappointing 1-1 draw against West Ham United on Thursday.
The Red Devils looked on course for victory when Diogo Dalot put his side ahead in the 58th minute.
But they failed to control the game and the Hammers responded through Soungoutou Magassa’s 83rd-minute strike to level the scores.
United tried hard to find a decisive second goal but West Ham held out to secure a point.
Neville gave a scathing assessment of his former club’s performance, but spared Fernandes who he felt was the only player trying to win the match.
“This was a massive opportunity,” he said on the Gary Neville podcast. “You saw the games they had lined up [against Everton, Palace and West Ham] and they won the most difficult game [vs Palace].
“But unfortunately, they’re not taking their chances to get up there and be up there. And I don’t get it. I don’t get the lack of urgency and lack of intensity.
“I don’t get the slow play and the lack of risk in the game. I suspect Amorim isn’t going into the changing room saying, ‘Guys, play slowly tonight.’ He’s going in there and saying to move the ball quickly and to play with real threat and vigour.
“But it doesn’t transpire out on the pitch. I don’t see the appetite to go and throw your whole life at the game and everything you’ve got. Bruno does look a little bit like he does that, you could see him at the end there trying to get everywhere.
“I actually see that little bit of panic in him that we can’t draw this game. I don’t see it in enough of the others. I don’t see. I still see them being quite [passive], letting the game drift or walking to a throw-in.”
United entered Thursday’s fixture on the back of an excellent 2-1 success over Crystal Palace last weekend.
Given they were playing at home against a relegation battling West Ham side, Ruben Amorim’s men were being regarded as favourites to win the match.
However, they produced a disappointing display and deserved no more than a draw against a poor Hammers team.
Matthijs de Ligt missed out through injury, and his replacement Ayden Heaven endured a nervy outing at Old Trafford.
Luke Shaw and Noussair Mazraoui were not at their best, while Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha couldn’t make crucial contributions in attack.
Fernandes tried hard to make an impact but twice failed to hit the target.
Amorim’s men will hope to bounce back when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Monday.
