Gary Neville reveals one reason Arsenal will win the title

Gary Neville believes Arsenal’s superb defence will help them claim the Premier League title again at the end of this season, despite the Gunners having played only one league match so far.

They earned an impressive 3-0 win against Coventry City in their opening league game, although that was their second competitive fixture of the campaign. They had previously beaten Manchester City by the same scoreline in the Community Shield.

The Gunners remain the team to beat, and many expect them to perform strongly throughout the season. Their defensive strength has been a major factor in their success over the last few campaigns, giving them a solid foundation on which to build their title challenge.

Mikel Arteta has built a robust defence that has been among the best in the game across all competitions, while Arsenal have also added Ezri Konsa to that area of their squad.

Arsenal’s defence could prove decisive

The Gunners are confident that they have the best defence in the league and are ready to prove it as the season progresses. Neville believes that strength at the back could make Arsenal an even stronger team and ultimately help them secure another league title.

The former Manchester United defender has been impressed by the number of quality options Arteta has available in defence. Arsenal’s depth in that area could become particularly important as the campaign develops and the demands on the squad increase.

Neville backs Arsenal for title

Neville believes the club’s defensive approach could give them a significant advantage over their rivals. He said via the Metro:

‘They’ve already got eight amazing defenders and now they’ve signed another really good centre half.

‘It’s almost like they’re doubling down and saying: we’re not going to concede goals, we’re just going to make sure we’re better than everyone else defensively by a million miles, and they are. That will win them a title again.’

With only one league game completed, Arsenal still have a long season ahead of them. However, their early results have been encouraging, and their defensive record has once again provided a strong platform.

Neville’s assessment reflects the belief that Arsenal’s strength at the back could ultimately be the difference in another Premier League title race.
