RC Strasbourg Alsace have reached an agreement in principle with Gary O’Neil that will see the 42-year-old head coach succeed Liam Rosenior in the dugout, according to The TelegraphThe BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club was in the market for a head coach after the American consortium poached Liam Rosenior to replace the departing Enzo Maresca.

The outlet understands that details still need ironing out, but O’Neil is now on the verge of replacing Rosenior with the Ligue 1 side. The former AFC Bournemouth head coach was a free agent after the end of his tenure at the head of Wolverhampton Wanderers midway through the 2024-2025 Premier League campaign.

L’Equipe broke the news on Sunday that O’Neil had already met representatives of Strasbourg’s ownership group.
