Roma dominated the first half, but failed to find the back of the net.
Gian Piero Gasperini was extremely frustrated, and in the closing stages he became furious with referee Colombo, who, according to the coach, was guilty of consistently calling Atalanta’s offsides too late.
After protesting to the fourth official, Gasperini also reprimanded Colombo, who decided to caution him.
The Como referee actually made numerous errors in the first half: two yellow cards were missed (one clear on Malen), as well as Carnesecchi’s repeated time-wasting.
