Celik’s contract renewal is increasingly distant, and with his contract expiring in June, Roma has begun the hunt for a winger ahead of the summer transfer window.

With the Turk’s departure, however, a new right-back won’t be forthcoming.

This is because Wesley will return to his natural position and will no longer play adapted to the left. In January, Roma made an attempt for Bernasconi, but Atalanta rejected the offer and have since secured the player.

According to Tuttosport, Roma have now set their sights on another Serie A player, Carlos Augusto.

The Brazilian, who has performed well, is finding little playing time at Inter, partly due to Dimarco’s excellent season.

For this reason, he hasn’t yet accepted the offer to extend his contract until 2030, despite a substantial salary increase. He’s a profile that appeals to Gasperini, who wanted him at Atalanta when the Brazilian was still playing for Monza.

His agent is Beppe Riso, the same one who represents Cristante and Mancini. For now, Carlos Augusto hasn’t made a final decision and has asked his agent to take his time.
