Gasperini linked as Roma ‘to consider’ Raphael Guerreiro, once wanted by Rui Costa at Benfica | OneFootball

Roma are continuing post-window business, assessing free agents, and Raphael Guerreiro has been earmarked for the left flank.

Gazzetta suggests the giallorossi want extra quality on that side and the Portugal international is under consideration.

Separately, Gasperini is pushing to sign Guerreiro.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after leaving Bayern Munich. He spent the last three seasons in Bavaria following several years at Borussia Dortmund.

He is a fervent Benfica supporter and had viewed a switch to Lisbon favourably. He had been on Rui Costa’s list at the club.

Last season he featured in 29 matches for Bayern, scoring six goals with two assists. Roma’s interest has not advanced beyond an initial assessment.
