Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini reacted to his team’s 3-1 away win over Cremonese on Sunday afternoon.
When asked about Evan Ferguson’s first goal, the manager said, “We’re happy for him. He scored a very important goal in a game where we were playing well. His goal made us understand that we could win.”
Gasperini then spoke about the importance of substitutions: “The five substitutions are useful, and I use them all, but they don’t excite me. Football is also about resistance, and with fewer substitutions, stronger teams emerge.”
Then on Tommaso Baldanzi: “I really liked him; he played well as a center forward. Now we have more options, more confidence, and more confidence to score goals.”
On Sunday, however, Roma will be without Gasperini against Napoli. The Giallorossi coach was sent off at the Zini stadium. It wasn’t easy for him to swallow: “Compared to the many situations in the first half, I didn’t say anything in the second. The referee and the fourth official made two serious errors. If they should have done something, it would have been in the first half. Not the second.”
“Now we need to add more to keep playing like this. Dreaming of the Scudetto? As I said, it’s nice to live dreams. Now they’re only dreams, let’s try to prolong them by going back to sleep and then waking up…”
