Incoming Lazio coach Gennaro Gattuso is weighing who to keep and who could depart, with the futures of Gustav Isaksen and Matteo Cancellieri under scrutiny.

Il Messaggero reports that Isaksen is the preferred option on the right, a stance that would leave Cancellieri surplus to requirements. It adds that Gattuso has no objection to Cancellieri leaving this summer, despite Isaksen’s refusal to come off the bench on the final day of the season against Pisa.

Corriere dello Sport claims that Cancellieri remains under evaluation, with specific attributes having caught Gattuso’s eye.

With the accounts diverging, both wingers seem best filed as undecided until Gattuso sets out his plans after he is formally installed.

Cancellieri’s situation will attract outside attention regardless. If Lazio choose to sell, Brentford could return with a concrete offer for the 24-year-old this summer.

By contrast, Mattia Zaccagni is viewed as untouchable and a central piece in Gattuso’s project from the outset.
