Lorenzo Lucca has once again stated that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is his idol, and that he was delighted to receive a shirt from him.

Lucca is one of the most promising strikers in Serie A and he has four goals to his name for Udinese this season in 12 league games. He returned to Italy after a failed spell with Ajax, who signed him from Pisa on loan.

The 24-year-old has never hidden his admiration for Ibrahimovic, having publicly declared him as his idol repeatedly in the past. This morning an interview was published with the centre-forward in La Repubblica (via MilanNews), and he again spoke about the Swede.

Who are your idols?

“I love Ibra, who gave me his shirt, and Djokovic, for his mental strength”

You are very close to your brother Riccardo, also a footballer…

“He just turned eighteen. He plays in the amateurs at CBS Calcio, affiliated with Milan. He’s tall and fast, but he has to grow. At his age I had already left my parents’ house. And then sacrifices are needed. I don’t drink, I eat well, I sleep just enough. Discipline helps.”

Given the doubts about the future of players like Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic in the attack, Milan might well give a thought to signing someone like Lucca if his form continues. He would also help with the homegrown quote.
