Gavi breaks silence following surgery as Barcelona teammates react | OneFootball

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Barcelona would be without the services of Gavi for the next 4-5 months, with the midfielder’s knee being in worse shape than first feared. Surgery has rectified the issue, but he will need a long recovery period in order to ensure that there are no more complications.

The news is devastating for Gavi, who has already spent almost a year out of action after tearing the ACL in the same knee that has been causing him issues. Nevertheless, he is choosing to remain positive, which he stated during an update on Instagram (via Sport).

“Those of you who know me, know that I will come back as many times as necessary to defend Barça and my people until the end. A true champion is not forged in moments of success, but in those when he rises after falling. Thank you all for the messages of support and affection!”

Barcelona teammates react to Gavi injury lay-off

Gavi is one of the most popular players in the Barcelona dressing room, and many of his teammates took to social media themselves to send their best wishes. As per MD, among them was Lamine Yamal.

“My warrior, I have no doubt that in nothing you will return being the best as always. Nothing can beat you, we all expect you a lot of strength, I love you.”

Alejandro Balde, another of Gavi’s close friends, told him that “you will come back stronger my brother, we are with you”, while he also received a message from former Barcelona teammate Ousmane Dembele, who won the 2025 Ballon d’Or earlier in the week.

“Stay strong, little brother. I hope you recover soon so I can see you enjoying yourself on the field again! Big hug and I miss you!”
