Gavi sends public message of support to Barcelona teammate after Euro 2024 exit | OneFootball

Barcelona star Gavi has taken to social media, to send a message of support to a no doubt crestfallen teammate from this past season.

The player in question? João Félix.

Frontman Félix, for his part, took his place front and centre in the headlines across the continent late on Saturday night.

Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, however, this came for altogether less than positive reasons.

After stepping up to take responsibility of a spot-kick during Portugal’s Euro 2024 quarter-final penalty shootout against France, Félix fluffed his lines, his effort coming off the post and out.

This proved to be the decisive moment in the shootout, as France advanced to the Euro semi-finals at Portugal’s expense.

Safe to say, then, that Félix has no doubt endured a difficult 24 hours on a personal level.

Quick to send a message of support to his Barca teammate from the 2023/24 campaign in the aftermath of Friday’s clash, in turn, was the aforementioned Gavi.

Taking to his official Instagram account, youngster Gavi unveiled a photo of the pair, accompanied by the caption:

“Always with you my brother”
