According to Meu Timao, Gaviões da Fiel turned up at Brazil’s 2026 World Cup opener against Morocco at 19:00 on Saturday at the New York/New Jersey Stadium, unveiling two flags despite no Corinthians player in the 26.

One flag reworks the CBF crest, swapping the initials for GDF, short for Gaviões da Fiel. Green becomes black, reflecting the group’s colours and avoiding rivals Palmeiras’ mark.

The second shows the Corinthians crest to the left, a hawk and the word Gaviões centred, underlining the group’s identity.

Movimento Verde Amarelo, official supporters of Time Brasil and the Comitê Paralímpico Brasileiro, brought together dozens of organised groups to back the Seleção. Corinthians-linked Fiel Macabra, Estopim da Fiel and Camisa 12 were also present.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team are in Group C. After Morocco, Brazil face Haiti at 21:30 on Friday at the Philadelphia Stadium, then meet Scotland at 19:00 on the 24th, again at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.

Despite no current Corinthians players in the squad, five with Parque São Jorge ties are involved. Goalkeeper Weverton, defender Marquinhos and forward Gabriel Martinelli came through the academy, while midfielder Éderson played there from 2020 to 2021. Gabriel Magalhães, a declared Corinthians fan, partners Marquinhos at centre-back, with Weverton, Martinelli and Éderson on the bench.

On Sunday, the current squad could be represented, as Memphis Depay is in the Netherlands squad and is expected to debut against Japan at 17:00 at the Dallas Stadium.
