Corinthians’ main ultras group Gaviões da Fiel has condemned intimidation of acting Deliberative Council president Leonardo Pantaleão and his family ahead of a vote that could expel former president Andrés Sanchez from the club’s membership.
According to Meu Timao, the group said threats tied to the conduct of the process cross democratic lines and seek to sway or block internal proceedings, including the expulsion vote. It condemned intimidation and backed Pantaleão to act with autonomy and safety.
Pantaleão confirmed he has received a series of threats, adding he will not be intimidated or change Monday’s vote.
Parque São Jorge opened with banners backing Andrés and criticising Pantaleão. After the images spread, a fan set fire to the materials, which carried slogans opposing expulsion, decrying dirty politics, urging a closed ballot and insulting Pantaleão.
Councillors are due to vote tonight on Pantaleão’s report recommending Andrés’ expulsion for alleged misuse of a corporate card on personal expenses between 2018 and 2021, about R$ 480,000.
The case has been examined by the Justice Commission since August. Prosecutors later charged Andrés with misappropriation, money laundering and falsifying a tax document, citing more than 200 expenses in 31 invoices and seeking over R$ 1.1 million.
A court initially rejected the laundering and document counts, but that ruling is suspended after a recusal bid alleging partiality. Six organised groups have called a peaceful protest this afternoon over a R$ 2.7 billion debt and transfer bans since 2025.
