Gaviões da Fiel visited CT Joaquim Grava on Thursday morning to confront Corinthians’ players and staff after the 3-1 loss to Fluminense. According to Meu Timao, the group sought accountability.

Leaders returned from a caravan to the Maracanã in Rio and waited to enter the facility to address the delegation. The squad were due to start preparations on Thursday for Internacional on Sunday in the Brasileirão.

Representatives met head coach Dorival Júnior, president Osmar Stabile and the entire squad. The discussion was stern given current form, with demands of the staff and a meeting on the pitch.

The visit came amid Corinthians’ longest winless run in almost three years. The defeat in Rio extended it to eight matches, their last victory a 1-0 win over Athletico Paranaense on 19 February.

Protests had already erupted at full-time at the Maracanã, with criticism aimed at the coach and players. Chants demanded respect for the shirt and accused players of lacking desire and courage.

A similar scene unfolded in March, when organised groups met players and staff at CT Joaquim Grava before the Santos derby that finished 1-1 at Vila Belmiro. At that point there were four winless games, including a Paulistão semi-final exit to Novorizontino.

Corinthians are 11th in the Campeonato Brasileiro on 10 points. They host Internacional at Neo Química Arena on Sunday 5 at 19:30 in the 10th round.
