Gaviões da Fiel have issued a formal response to Corinthians council member Paulo Pedro after he criticised protests calling for judicial intervention and statute reform.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil, Pedro said: "Gaviões have lost a lot in recent years. Let's be realistic, they do not even know what they want."

In a strongly worded note, the organised supporters questioned criticism from CORI, which they said should safeguard the club’s assets. They argued that oversight was missing while debt rose towards R$ 3 billion amid a string of questionable contracts.

The group said explanations were owed by the Conselho Deliberativo for months of delay to the statute reform vote, for manoeuvres that still threaten to suspend the 19 September assembly, and for approving accounts that left the club in financial distress.

Gaviões added that demanding transparency, supporting inquiries by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and asking for judicial intervention are not contradictory, but complementary moves aimed at professional and accountable management.

They lamented councillors choosing to disparage peaceful demonstrations rather than account for their own records, and insisted the pressure from the stands seeks only to defend the institution.

On Saturday the group protested outside Parque São Jorge for intervention and the statute reform, which has divided opinion internally since 2025. Earlier in the week, alongside other organised groups, they met prosecutors at the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office about the ongoing inquiry into a possible intervention.
