Despite their elimination from the Champions League, AC Milan have a chance to restart their season, though this sentence has already been said before.

If last season could be summarised, it would be done with the word injuries. This season, it probably would be a restart. In every sense, Milan have restarted. Before the season, several times during the season, then the big restart, and under Conceicao, there have already been a few, and there will be another.

Whilst it can be damaging, perhaps this is a failure to give up on goals. However, the Rossoneri cannot be a team that consistently looks to start afresh. After all, that benefits no one.

So, hopefully, for the last time this season, the club are hoping for a restart.

Gazzetta dello Sport writes how Conceicao has overseen great moments so far – the Supercoppa, the Coppa Italia thus far and the league record. However, there have also been clear failings which make things difficult.

There have been faults in these situations that can be attributed to his own mistakes, as well as the players. For example, many believe that the Portuguese made the wrong substitutions in the game against Feyenoord.

Nevertheless, the ‘future’ for the coach starts once again this weekend. One final chance for a run at security, which still hangs in the balance, and seemingly will do until June.

To secure a place, he needs to secure Champions League football and compete for the Coppa Italia, not an easy task, but a task nonetheless.
