AC Milan will try to save their season tonight in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, in which they face city rivals Inter.
In case you had forgotten, Milan and Inter drew the first leg 1-1 at San Siro meaning it is all to play for this evening. Both goals came in the second half: Tammy Abraham got the opener with a lovely turn and finish, then Hakan Calhanoglu equalised with a strike from distance.
As this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport points out, Milan’s only absentee due to injury is Emerson Royal. Both Kyle Walker and Ruben Loftus-Cheek returned to full training during the week and will be on the bench.
Sergio Conceicao is expected to stick with the three-man defence, former of Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic, with Mike Maignan obviously in goa.
Alex Jimenez and Theo Hernandez will be the right and left wing-backs respectively, while Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders comprise the central midfield pairing.
The only change from the Atalanta game is expected to be in the front three with Tammy Abraham coming in for Luka Jovic. He should be flanked by Christian Pulisic to the right and Rafael Leao to the left.
Predicted Milan XI (3-4-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Thiaw; Jimenez, Fofana, Reijnders, Theo Hernandez; Pulisic, Abraham, Leao.
Predicted Inter XI (3-5-2): Martinez; Pavard, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Frattesi, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Correa, Martinez.
