Genk have announced the signing of 22-year-old right-back Kevin Amaro. The Uruguayan international has signed a five year deal with the Belgian Pro League club and joins from the countries own Liverpool side, based in the capital city of Montevideo. Genk have had a lot of success in signing young full-backs from Latin America and there will be hopes that Amaro can follow in the footsteps of Daniel Munoz, who joined Genk from Colombia and has since gone on to win European trophies with Crystal Palace.
Amaro made his Liverpool debut during the 2022 season, although he only began to really breakthrough into the first team during the 2024 campaign. Amaro played 42 games for Liverpool, scoring once. In 2025 he played 34 games, also with one goal. So far this season he has played 17 games for Liverpool. Amaro, who can play anywhere on the right-hand side of the pitch, has also been capped a handful of times by the Uruguayan national team.
Amaro joins a Genk side that have lost one and won one of their opening two games in the Belgian Pro League.
