According to HLN, Genk are in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of highly rated Greek teenager Kos Karetsas. Borussia Dortmund have already made a number of bids for the 18-year-old ‘wonderkid’, but these have already been rejected. If Borussia Dortmund want to sign him, Genk are looking for a fee in the region of €35m. Other clubs are also said to be interested in signing Karetsas and, should Borussia Dortmund struggle to meet Genk’s valuation of the teenager, they could swoop in and take him from the German club.
However, for Karetsas, a move to Borussia Dortmund would certainly be appealing. The side have a fantastic track record of signing young players and helping them develop. The teenager had a real break out season for Genk last year, with three goals and 14 assists in 49 games. He is clearly a very talented player and Borussia Dortmund would likely see him as one they can sell on for a profit in the future if he reaches his potential.
