Bruno Genesio says midfielders Geoffrey Kondogbia and Tochukwu Nnadi are progressing in their recoveries, though returns before the international break remain uncertain.

Both will miss Friday's trip to Rennes, kick-off 20:45. They were injured in the 0-2 loss at Monaco, Kondogbia with a muscle issue and Nnadi to a knee. The Marseille coach said this on Thursday, according to L'Équipe.

Genesio said Kondogbia remains in reconditioning and is improving. He does not want to set a timeline, calling muscle injuries a day-to-day matter. Kondogbia is doing better than expected and it remains to be seen whether he returns before the break or after.

He added that Nnadi is also improving. He will not be ready for Rennes and there is little chance of seeing him before the break.

Both players are following their return-to-play protocols, with their status to be reviewed daily.
