Georges Mikautadze named La Liga’s February player of the month | OneFootball

Georges Mikautadze has been named La Liga’s player of the month for February. According to L'Équipe, the Villarreal forward is enjoying an encouraging first season in Spain after arriving from OL.

Six months on from that move in the final hours of the summer window, the Georgia international, who has 41 caps and 21 goals, continues to make his mark.

He received the award around Villarreal’s 2-1 win over Elche on Sunday. He did not score at the weekend.

Mikautadze’s February return featured three goals in three matches, against Espanyol, Getafe and Levante, plus one assist in a 4-1 victory over the Catalans on the ninth of February.

Villarreal are fourth in La Liga, level on points with third-placed Atlético de Madrid, and look well placed to return to the Champions League next season.
