Geraldão, the leading scorer in Corinthians’ historic 1977 Campeonato Paulista triumph, died on Thursday, aged 77.
The club said in a statement that he played 280 matches for Corinthians, scoring 91 goals.

He also won the state title again in 1979.
Born on 25 July 1949 in Álvares Machado, near Presidente Prudente, he first made his name with Botafogo de Ribeirão Preto, where he played alongside Sócrates.
Condolences were offered to his family and friends.
