Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck insists his side cannot seek excuses amid a brutal fixture schedule.

Speaking to Inter TV via FCInterNews, the German defender also hailed the team’s performance in yesterday’s win at Borussia Dortmund.

Yann Bisseck reigned supreme at Signal Iduna Park, helping Inter shut out one of Europe’s most prolific attacks.

Indeed, Cristian Chivu celebrated his first ‘big game’ victory, as the Nerazzurri claimed a 2-0 win in Germany.

Despite breaking the curse, Chivu failed to inspire the San Siro giants to a second consecutive top-eight finish.

Instead, Inter will continue their UEFA Champions League journey in the playoff round.

Unfortunately, that will put an additional squeeze on an already congested fixture schedule.

However, Bisseck doesn’t seem to care about the mounting pressure.

Several high-profile matches are awaiting the Nerazzurri, including a mouth-watering Derby d’Italia clash against Juventus in mid-February.

Moreover, they’ll also face Torino in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals next week.

“Great match? Yes, I think so too,” Bisseck said after last night’s triumph. “We knew it would be tough, but we were well prepared, very aggressive.

“We played an excellent game both with and without the ball.

“However, we need to improve offensively, especially me today, but we’re happy with this match,” the Nerazzurri defender continued.

“The coach gives me confidence going forward as well; sometimes I find the right moment to push up, but I also need to do better defensively.”

Asked about the challenges awaiting Inter in February, Bisseck replied: “Yes, but we are a big club, and it’s normal to have many games.

“We are physically well prepared too, there are no excuses; we must do our best, and we’ll see what happens.”

Finally, he explained the feeling of celebrating under Inter’s away fans section.
