German international Carlotta Wamser signs for Man City

Manchester City have completed the signing of Germany international defender Carlotta Wamser.

The 22-year-old reinforces the WSL champions after signing a four-year deal that will keep her at the club until 2030.

Wamser joins the club from Bayer Leverkusen, who she joined from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, after playing 20 times in all competitions last season and featuring in Leverkusen's 2-0 opening day win away to RB Leipzig earlier this month.

"The English league is the best league in the world and Manchester City are one of the best clubs in the world," Wamser said on her arrival.

"I feel like I need the next step for my career and I feel that I can develop as a player here very well. And I like the challenge as well, so I think it’s the perfect step for me right now to [move to] Manchester."
