Felix Zwayer's World Cup debut was eventful. The German paused the United States' 2-0 win over Australia in injury-time after suffering cramp, having already shown seven yellow cards, the most so far at the tournament.

According to BuLi News, the 45-year-old is the only German referee at the 2026 World Cup, with Bastian Dankert on VAR duty.

Zwayer and Dankert began their assignments on Friday.

The United States, co-hosts, have secured a place in the Round of 32 by winning their first two games.

Türkiye and Paraguay will meet in the final match of the day, both still looking for their first points.
