Despite taking an early 1-0 lead, Germany fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Ecuador in their final World Cup group-stage match at East Rutherford on Thursday.
The result brought Germany’s 11-game winning streak to an end, but it doesn't change the fact that Julian Nagelsmann’s side progress to the round of 32 as winners of Group E.
