Germany to make late decision on Neuer for USA clash

After missing Germany’s 4-0 friendly win over Finland last Sunday, Manuel Neuer might also be unavailable for Saturday’s match against the United States.

According to Sky Germany, the 40-year-old Bayern Munich veteran was still not able to take part in full training with his teammates on Thursday.

A final decision on Neuer’s availability for Saturday’s game – Germany’s last test before they kick off the World Cup – is expected to be made on Friday.

Neuer has been out of action since suffering a muscle injury in Bayern Munich’s 5-1 win over 1. FC Köln on May 16.

If he's not deemed fit enough to start against the United States, Oliver Baumann will be ready to deputise for him once more.
