Wayne Rooney has predicted there will be more twists in the Premier League title race and has urged the Arsenal fans to back their stuttering team.
Arsenal lost 2-1 at Manchester City on Sunday to continue a poor run of form. The Gunners have lost four consecutive domestic games, a run which has allowed Manchester City to close the gap in the title race, and has included exits from both domestic cups.
City can move top of thePremier League with a win at Burnley tomorrow night, but Rooney believes Arsenal will end the season as champions. As things stand, the title could be determined on goal difference if both teams win all of their remaining games.
He thinks the North Londoners have a better set of fixtures for the run-in, but has warned the club's fans that they must ignore the tension and back their team.
"I think it will be tight. I think they're good fixtures for Arsenal, I think they'll win all of them games. City's fixtures are a little bit more difficult, and I think Everton might take a couple of points off them," Rooney toldBBC Match of the Day.
"I think that the fans have got a big role to play. I said this last season. Against Real Madrid, they were excellent and against PSG they were very poor. In the last game, against Bournemouth, they're booing them off the pitch. They've been top of the league all season.
"I want Arsenal to win the league, I don't want Manchester City to win the league. The Arsenal fans need to get behind their team and the importance of that is massive."
